INTRODUCING
STARR WHITEHOUSE: HUDSON
As work-from-home and telecommuting decentralize the workplace, municipalities experiencing decades of job flight are beginning to see an influx of new residents and economic opportunities. With the opening of our new office in Hudson, NY, Starr Whitehouse is helping communities prepare for an economy that is simultaneously more local and connected expanding infrastructure, restoring historic centers, improving access and public safety, and curating the public realm.

Promenade Hill Park Universal Access & Plaza Redesign
Client: City of Hudson, Downtown Revitalization Initiative
Location: Hudson, NY

Spearheading redesign on behalf of the City of Hudson, Starr Whitehouse is leading the DRI-funded reconstruction of Hudson's historic Promenade Hill Park. Engaging the community in socially-distanced workshops, our team is exploring strategies to make the promenade universally accessible, while carving out new programming and social spaces in one of the nation's oldest public parks.
Early project renderings show the new accessible route and gathering spaces.
Socially-distanced community workshops were held outdoors and on site in August 2020.
Park construction expected to begin April 2021, with anticipated completion by December 2021.
