An Update From Julie

Education Manager

Exciting New Opportunities for 2025 at the Museum!

The new year brings so many exciting ways for you to engage with the Museum! Whether you're looking to learn a new skill, join an insightful conversation, attend a lecture, or simply enjoy the artwork, there's something for everyone. With programs now available on weekends, there’s even more opportunity for you to participate in the fun!

Our docent program is expanding, too! If you're passionate about art and interested in helping to create educational experiences at the Museum, we invite you to explore our new docent program.

Art in Conversation

Join us each month for an engaging discussion led by myself and Docent Anne Skelly. Together, we’ll delve into various themes and topics, exploring their connection to the featured artworks. Each session offers a 60-minute experience of thoughtful observation, reflection, conversation, and interpretation, creating a deeper understanding of art.

You can check out the topic of the month by visiting our calendar and selecting the day you would like to attend. Conversations happen the third Thursday and second Saturday of each month. Art in Conversation is free with museum admission. Don't forget, museum members always enjoy free admission! Just one more reason to become a museum member. Follow this link to join the Museum today!

Second Saturdays at the Museum

Make your Saturday a creative one at the Museum! Join me at noon on the second Saturday of every month for our new series, Art in Conversation. Afterward, at 2 pm, I will lead the monthly Sketch and Study Series. This monthly drawing series offers artists of all skill levels the opportunity to explore the artwork up close, examining Remington’s techniques, while refining your own observational drawing skills.

We're looking forward to seeing you at the Museum soon!

Best Wishes,

Julie Pratt

DIGITAL BRONZE REPRODUCTION

The Rattlesnake, Casting No.14

The most accurate reproduction of Remington’s sculptures yet.

Using 3D laser scanners on Remington’s original cast of The Rattlesnake No. 14 combined with the traditional lost-wax casting process, we have managed to capture the most intricate details of this classic piece of American art. The original Casting No. 14, displayed in the Oval Office during the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations,

is owned by Dr. Harrison G. Monk and on loan to the Museum.

And now you can have one too.
