We've changed our name: Introducing Workforce Planning Hamilton!

January always brings many changes and for us this is a big one!  Our Board of Directors are pleased to announce a name change from The Hamilton Training Advisory Board to Workforce Planning Hamilton.  The new name more accurately reflects the true function of the organization, and aligns with the names of our sister organizations across the province.  We hope that you will soon become accustomed to seeing (and hearing) WPH in the community.  Our goal?  That WPH will be just as familiar to you as HTAB once was.

Employers: Be part of our next Workforce Check-up

workforce check-up logoWouldn't it be amazing if employers, job seekers and the community could access up-to-date local labour market information, instead of having to rely on Census materials from 6 years ago?  This is the goal behind WPH's monthly Workforce Check-up.  This (very) brief survey is delivered to the inbox of local employers monthly.  Employers are asked if, during the past month, they hired or laid off employees. They are also ask which occupations were affected.  If you'd like to be part of the Workforce Check-up please email Cyndi at cyndi.ingle@htab.ca

Strengthening Newcomers Services in Hamilton Guide
On October 21/11, WPH, in partnership with the Social Planning Research Council, the Immigration Partnership Council, Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion, and Community Information Hamilton hosted a well attended community meeting to share information about the new service structure, and hear feedback from frontline workers regarding gaps in service for newcomers services.  A guide listing the agencies that set up displays, and the services they provide was created.
Our next newsletter will be delivered to your inbox on February 16, 2012.  For more information about WPH please call 905.521.5777 or email: info@htab.ca.
