Introducing Oliver Pryce: WPH's Immigrant Mentorship Coordinator 

 

We are happy to welcome Oliver Pryce, the newest member of the WPH team. Oliver brings over 15 years of experience in project management and design, coordinating mentoring programs, training and working with adults.  He has worked in the social service industry for over 2 years and more than 15 years in post-secondary education. 

 

Oliver Pryce During the past 2� years he coordinated the mentoring program at Skills for Change, Toronto, where he implemented and managed several mentoring projects for internationally trained professionals, including an online e-mentoring project. As an immigrant Oliver understands the barriers faced by newcomers and is very passionate about implementing strategies to help them overcome hurdles to reaching their career goals.  To learn more about the Immigrant Mentorship Program email Oliver at: [email protected] 

National Household Survey Data Release 
 
On June 26, 2013, Statistics Canada released education, labour, mobility and migration data collected from the 2011 National Household Survey (NHS). In the coming months, Workforce Planning Hamilton will be updating industry and occupational information for each of Hamilton's key economic clusters: advanced manufacturing, agribusiness and food processing, clean technology, creative industries, goods movement, and life sciences. The third and final release of the NHS on the topics of income and housing is scheduled to be shared on August 14, 2013.

November 13/13:  Is Working Killing You? Keynote address by Dr. David Posen, work/life balance expert at Waterfront Centre, 7:30 am. - 10:00 am.
