This email marks the launch of a new series called Artist Digest.
Once a week, we'll be focusing our attention on the work of a single artist, bringing you a carefully curated mix of content that invites you to explore their practices in depth.
Our first volume focuses on the celebrated Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei.
It begins with a message of hope, sent by the artist from his new home in the UK.

From the Vault
The 10,000+ photographs taken by Ai Weiwei while living in New York (1983 - 1993) offer a unique insight into a young artist's community and the city's socio-political atmosphere.
Take a 3-D tour of Trace , Ai Weiwei's installation featuring LEGO portraits of prisoners of conscience from around the world. The work was the centerpiece of his 2014 solo exhibition @Large: Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz , curated by Cheryl Haines through the FOR-SITE Foundation.

"Art helps human consciousness. Art is about individuals' emotions or ideas or concepts relating to a larger cultural definition of who we are."
