Introducing:

Girls Inc. of the Seacoast Area

Book Club!

Reading is a journey for most: we love it, we leave it alone, we get scared to go back into reading, we love it again! Reading can be a mysterious, magical world where you get lost in a reality - and sometimes even learn a valuable lesson at the end of the day.

Girls Inc. of the Seacoast Center is proudly partnering with Amesbury Public Library for our new book club. Come enjoy reading books about empowered youth, open dialogue, reading games, and more!

Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy

(Graphic Novel)

Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy are sisters. Their father is away overseas, and their mother is struggling to keep everything afloat. Despite the overarching family problems, each sister is also facing a mountain of challenges of their own.

This modern-day retelling of the literary classic Little Women reflects an interracial, blended family dynamic and the challenges that modern youth may face growing up and finding their footing in the world.

NOTE: this book contains and discusses the LGBTQ+ community as well as cancer .

Need a copy? Please call the Amesbury Public Library Youth Department after November 1st to confirm and hold a copy of the book!

We're starting off our book club series with Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy, a great modern retelling of Little Women. After our December 12th session, we will take a break for the holiday season.
