We all know that your stomach for zoom meetings is reaching capacity so we thought we would switch it up and give you a slightly different angle on the properties we represent in Africa.
Our new series The Expat & The Expert brings you interesting discussions between Andrea Hugo (being 'The Expat' having come from South Africa, living in the USA and focused on selling products in Africa) and the Expert (being an owner or representative from one of our collection of luxury safari properties). Instead of focusing on the information you can find online or easily receive from us, we thought you would be interested to learn about the lesser-known elements of the properties that you don't always get to hear about.
In our first episode, Andrea talks with Fritz Vorster, the managing partner of Onguma Safari Camps in Namibia. Fritz shares his passion for the surrounding community and its people, as well as conservation of wildlife and the guest experience at Onguma. Fritz talks about Onguma's sustainable tourism and conservation initiatives, as well as plans for the future. Listen in to hear what is in the works for Tree Top Camp and the new and utterly unique Sleep-Out experience being built now.
Onguma's collection of safari camps & lodges are situated on an 84,000 acre Private Nature Reserve which borders the famous Etosha National Park in Namibia. Onguma is well positioned to do game drives in Etosha National Park or game drives on their own reserve. They have a fantastic photographic bunker which is at eye level with the waterhole in front of the hide, providing magical photographic experiences. Other activities include a specific family fun wildlife amble, a discussion with the Rhino anti poaching unit, and a visit to a local farming community which supports the neighboring villages. With five different categories of accommodation, Onguma caters to guests seeking superior luxury, classic safari style, as well as budget friendly options, always keeping guests' specific requirements top of mind.
