IMPACT Connect welcomes Milwaukee County DHHS
Milwaukee County has successfully deployed IMPACT Connect across the Department of Health and Human Services and Behavioral Health Services which will expand to include BHS Youth Services, Adult Protective Services, and Housing Services. We invited Carla Kimber, Network Development Manager of Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Services, to share their experience as a new IMPACT Connect partner.
Why did you join IMPACT Connect?
Milwaukee County DHHS-BHS saw this as a great opportunity to leverage the No Wrong Door model of customer service. It allows us to better identify social determinants of health and provides a seamless referral system. With this, we can easily connect individuals to different agencies that are also using the referral network, ensuring that people get the support they need. We’ve been on the platform for about two months and the early experience has been positive.
What efficiencies are you hoping to achieve?
One of our key goals is to break down silos within our own organization. With this system, we can refer internally to one another more efficiently. This helps us better understand the full range of services available, which leads to improved collaboration and service delivery. We’ve also seen positive movement in aligning strategically with external partners, which allows us to engage more users and strengthen the network.
Have employees provided any feedback?
Employees have praised the platform for its ease of use, highlighting how seamlessly it helps them navigate resources to address clients' social determinants of health and make referrals more efficiently. Many describe it as an invaluable toolbox that becomes even more effective as more agencies join. Overall, they believe the platform significantly streamlines processes, enabling us to serve our communities more effectively and with greater impact.
