Dear Spartan,
The Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation (CTLI) is pleased to introduce the Academy for Teaching, a new professional development opportunity designed to support teaching excellence across Michigan State University.
The Academy for Teaching is a series of 12 self-paced online courses designed for all MSU educators. Grounded in evidence-based pedagogical practice, the academy allows educators to explore evidence-based teaching practices, refine core instructional competencies, and discover strategies that enhance student learning and engagement.
Each of the 12 courses requires approximately three hours to complete; courses can be stacked across six core tracks:
- Welcome to Teaching
- Course Design
- Engaging Practices
- Inclusive Pedagogy
- Assessment
- Educational Technology and AI
Completing individual courses yields a D2L completion badge, while completing a full track confers a shareable digital credential via Credly. Course links can be found on the Academy for Teaching website. After selecting a course, you will be asked to log in with your MSU NetID and password before self-enrolling.
Whether you are establishing foundational practices or refining advanced teaching strategies, the Academy offers practical, high-impact resources that respect your schedule and will help you contribute to a culture of teaching excellence across MSU.
Explore the Academy for Teaching and consider beginning a course today.
