2023 A BANNER YEAR FOR IBX MEDIA

2023 will go down as a record year for our IBX Media stations. 103.7 WTIB was recognized as one of the top 5 radio stations in the US and nominated for a Marconi Award. Henry Hinton was in New York City for the award ceremony at the Javits Center in November. To be named Top 5 was quite an honor and unprecedented for a station in Eastern North Carolina. Fox News recognized the station’s success and invited Henry to come by and be on the set of The Five which led to a new partnership with Fox launched in December.

WTIB and WRHT are now Fox News affiliates and carry their national newscast at the top of every hour. More accolades came the way of Marc and Laura, the celebrated morning team on 107.9 WNCT. For the fourth time the morning show won Best Morning Personalities by the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters. Marc and Laura continue to be one of the only local and live morning shows in our market. Congratulations to our great team!

Our community fundraising efforts brought record numbers again and culminated with our Operation Santa Claus Radiothons and Embers Christmas Show. More than $113,000 was raised for families in ENC at Christmas through our efforts to support Salvation Army chapters in Greenville and Morehead City for the holidays.

OPERATION SANTA CLAUS HELPED HUNDREDS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Our IBX Media stations love helping others at Christmas. Since joining forces with local Salvation Army offices in ENC we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for needy families during the holidays. This year’s Morehead City event was an amazing outpouring of love from our listeners as we broadcast live from the showroom at Mike Toler Chrysler Dodge Jeep. A record $60,000 was donated in less than 4 hours bringing our total efforts to more than $113,000!

Our Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon in March raised a record $108,443. Over the years the radiothon has raised an incredible $3,873,181 for the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital. The radiothon was going on for years when IBX Media purchased 107.9 WNCT in 2017 and then all our stations were added to the event which has taken it to record numbers.

As always there were many other fundraisers and charity events on the stations in 2023 including our two-hour radiothon for Pitt-Greenville Crime-stoppers on 103.7 WTIB during Talk of the Town which raised a record $20,000 to help local law enforcement in their crime fighting efforts.

94.3 The Game added more great Pirate programming for ECU fans including a new partnership with Hoist the Colours and Stephen Igoe.

Football fans also loved that we brought Steve Logan back to radio this year. Listenership and feedback from Coach Logan’s Friday afternoon show were huge.

Our stations are the exclusive home of play-by-play action for all ECU sports. But you will find our people everywhere during the sports seasons.

Patrick Johnson is heard daily on two of our stations as the morning show co-anchor delivering news and sports every weekday on Talk of the Town. Then Patrick can be heard daily at 5 pm on 94.3 The Game talking sports and interviewing everyone involved in ECU Athletics. But Patrick is also the play-by-play voice for home ECU basketball on ESPN+. He and Si Seymour call the action courtside in Minges Coliseum.

OLDIES UPGRADE!

Our oldies station got a new home this year as we moved it to a much stronger signal in Greenville on 102.7 FM. Now oldies fans hear us on 94.1 from New Bern, Morehead City and Jacksonville as well as 102.7 in Greenville. Hit's of the 60's and 70's are just a click away on the IBX MEDIA app.

94.3 THE GAME IS THE FLAGSHIP FOR ECU BASEBALL AGAIN IN 2024

Pirate fans can hear every game, home and away, with Scott "Scooter" Rogers calling the play by play for the third year. The Pirates are ranked 11^th in the nation preseason and were picked to win the AAC again this year after winning the conference title four years running.

Cliff Godwin has built a baseball dynasty in Greenville and IBX Media is proud to bring you all the action. 94.3 The Game is the exclusive home for Pirate baseball. This year’s schedule includes UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State, Purdue, Cal State Fullerton and, Southeastern Louisiana in non-conference tilts plus a full schedule of American conference battles.

CONCERT ON THE COMMON IS COMING BACK FOR A 7^TH BIG SEASON

The 2024 lineup for our Concert on the Common spring and summer music series at the Greenville Toyota Amphitheater is going to be bigger and better. The series will feature some new bands who have never played our concerts before along with some old fan favs.

We are kicking it up a notch this year as we bring in some incredible acts from as far as Florida. Listen for the announcement of the dates but here is a preview of what is in store. If you like Jimmy Buffet, Elton John, Billy Joel, or Fleetwood Mac you are going to love this year’s lineup.
