CCAA Counselor Corner
We are pleased to offer the first edition of the CCAA Counselor Corner (CCC), an e-newsletter for high school, independent, community-based, and two-year college counselors. Through the CCC, we hope to give counselors some helpful tips, resources, and advice as you navigate the upcoming school year.

Our first edition is about maintaining positive mental health and participating in self-care. You’ve probably seen many articles and videos addressing this important topic, especially during the pandemic.

Self-Care Tips & Reflections
We spoke with Dr. Susan K. Salem, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles, one of our member schools. During our conversation, Dr. Salem shared some tips for self-care during a pandemic.

Putting Self-Care Into Practice
The stress levels of counselors, students, teachers and families are at an all-time high. We asked three of our board members how they put self-care into practice while working from home in the spring--and what lessons they learned from working from home that will help as they spend the summer preparing for school to start in the fall.

If you have any questions or would like to add a counselor colleague to our email list, please contact us at [email protected] .
