Introducing the NCEC Newsletter 2.0
Welcome to our newly formatted newsletter!

We hope this more regular and succinct communication method provides you with timely information and relevant resources. Each issue will highlight one of our member schools along with updates on NCEC happenings, progress updates for ongoing initiatives and tools we hope will make your job easier.

Look for an email the first and third Wednesday of each month.

NCEC welcomes Katie Saykally to our team. Katie has experience teaching in both Higher Ed and K-12. She has a Bachelor of Science in Art Education and a Master's in Ed Leadership. Katie will work with the ND Educational Hub and provide assistance to our CLSD granted schools.

Katie brings the NCEC Team up to five:

NCEC School Spotlight
Shining the spotlight on our member schools
Every month we will highlight one of our schools or educators to share bright ideas, lightbulb moments, and illuminating insights from the experts working in our region.

If you know of a story we should be sharing, please send it our way.

Professional Development
NCEC strives to provide relevant and engaging professional learning opportunities and resources to our member schools. The ND Educational Hub allows for online access to instructor-led and self-paced classes, book reads, virtual PLC meetings, and school system tools.

The ND Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant is a federal grant which aims to improve literacy skills of disadvantaged children from Birth through Grade 12.

Five NCEC schools were awarded CLSD grants.

NCEC will provide regular check-ins and technical assistance as needed to assist the schools in implementing their grant goals and objectives. We will share project highlights, innovative ideas, and lessons learned from the field that can hopefully benefit granted and non-granted schools alike in their efforts to improve literacy skills schoolwide.

21st CCLC News
The 21st Century Community Learning Center Afterschool program provides academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours to provide a safe space for students and help them meet standards in core academics.

The NCEC 21st CCLC Afterschool Program includes twelve sites:
  • Anamoose School
  • Bottineau Elementary School
  • Dunseith Elementary School
  • Dunseith Day School (Summer)
  • Newburg United School (Summer)
  • St. Ann’s Catholic School
  • St. John School (Summer)
  • TGU Granville School
  • TGU Towner School
  • Turtle Mountain Elementary School
  • Turtle Mountain Middle School 
  • Westhope Public School

We will highlight activities and accomplishments of our program sites as well as share resources for program staff, students and families,
