TREMEC TR-4050 5-Speed for 4WD
We just got back from Moab, Utah where we debuted the TREMEC TR-4050 5-Speed for 4WD. The TR-4050 is a game changer, the best of both worlds. It has the super low 6.16 1st gear and 6.03 reverse needed to crawl over anything in your way, but it also has a .76 overdrive for traveling the paved miles between your adventures. With 425 lb•ft continuous torque capacity, this transmission was built to climb and tow. Our growing list of supported engines includes: Cummins 4BT, 6BT, 5.0, and R2.8; Ford Windsor SB and Coyote; Chevrolet BB, SB, and LS Series; and Mopar SB and Gen III Hemi. TJ TREMEC TR-4050 PerfectFit™ Kit
We purchased a 2002 Jeep Wrangler to make our first PerfectFit kit with the TR-4050. With a little help from Advance Adapters, we were able to swap out the old NV3550. Of course, we designed a new STX Shifter for the TR-4050! We have a series of videos and probably many more to come as we #HitTheTrail in our Jeep. Top 5 Facts About TREMEC
When we showed up to the Easter Jeep Safari, we were frequently asked about the manufacturer behind the TR-4050, TREMEC. We've gathered the Top 5 facts about TREMEC so you can be in the know!

  1. They have been in business for 55 years and are a major manufacturer of transmissions. You will find them in your favorite GMs, Fords, Dodges, and many more. They make manual and DCT transmissions for everything from passenger cars and light duty trucks to heavy duty trucks and tractor trailers.
  2. They have a huge aftermarket following for the T-5, TKO, Magnum, and Magnum XL transmissions for RWD cars and trucks. They are especially popular with the classic car and performance car markets
  3. Although the TR-4050 was a popular choice and has been used for years in heavy duty trucks, it was never offered to the aftermarket. Silver Sport Transmissions exclusively offers these transmissions to the 4WD aftermarket.
