2017 Gala 
Over $1 million raised for NYC seniors! 

This year's gala was held on November 15 th at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Honored this year with the 2017 Humanitarian Award was  Jeffrey A. Weber, President and Chief Operating Officer, York Capital Management, and esteemed Board Chairman of the Carter Burden Network. Jeff was honored for his ongoing philanthropic efforts as a champion for aging New Yorkers and for twenty years of Board service at CBN. 

From all of us at the Carter  Burden  Network,  congratulations and thank you Jeff!

Holiday Bazaar at the Carter Burden Gallery in Chelsea
December 7 - 21, 2017
Tuesday to Friday 11 AM to 5 PM, Saturday 11 AM to 6 PM

Still looking for the perfect gift? Shop for original, local, affordable holiday gifts of ceramics, jewelry, textiles, small artworks, and handmade cards made by professional older artists.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the artwork and crafts will support the Carter Burden Network's programs and services.
14th Annual Fashion Show
The annual Fall Fashion Show at the Carter Burden Luncheon Club on East 74 th Street was held on Thursday, October 26 th .  It was a delightful display of timeless fashions modeled by our seniors on the Luncheon Club's red carpet runway and emceed by our Executive Director Bill Dionne.

The New York Times - At a Chelsea Art Gallery, an Age Requirement: Over 60 Only
In July, the Carter Burden Gallery (CBG)  in Chelsea was featured in the New York Times. The article discusses the challenges that older artists face with ageism in the arts and how the gallery fits into the Carter Burden Network's mission. The Gallery features professional 
re-emerging artists aged 60+.

Disney VoluntEAR of the Year
The Citymeals on Wheels delivery team for the Carter Burden Network was named the 
New York 2017 Disney VoluntEAR of the Year ! CBN's V olunteer Services team accepted the generous award at a reception on May 25th at ABC headquarters. We love our volunteers

Macy's Shop for a Cause Charity Challenge
This summer, CBN  was selected to participate in the  Macy's Shop for a Cause Charity Challenge , an amazing national online fundraising campaign.  Our generous donors raised $9,403 for our seniors!  These funds are supporting the diverse programs and services dedicated to enhancing the well-being of seniors in NYC such as our meal service and homebound meal delivery programs, case management and social services, arts programs and elder abuse prevention program.  Thank you for all your support!
