Workforce Development Leadership
Each biennium CSG West officers identify policy areas important to the region and establish committees tasked with facilitating information exchange, disseminating research, and providing opportunities for members to develop shared solutions. Committees are lead by co-chairs who provide bipartisan perspective to issues facing the region and we invite you to learn a little more about them, and the perspective they bring to their work.

Supreme Court Updates
U.S. Supreme Court Case Reviews
This term, the U.S. Supreme Court decided two big cases involving states, along with several other cases relevant to state governance. The Affordable Care Act case was a narrow 7-2 decision while the Voting Rights Act was broader with a 6-3 decision. Arizona Voting Requirements Upheld
In Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee, the U.S. Supreme Court was asked to consider whether elements of Arizona's voting laws stood in violation of the Voting Rights Act. The Court's findings offered five non-exhaustive factors with which to determine whether voting is equally open and, when applied to Arizona's rules, the majority determined that neither the out-of-precinct rule nor the ballot-collection law violates the Voting Rights Act. Charity Donor Disclosure Requirement Struck Down
Under current California law, charities must provide donor lists to the state Attorney General based on specific monetary parameters. Several charity organizations sued the state alleging that this practice violated the First Amendment and in Americans for Prosperity v. Bonta, the U.S. Supreme Court, by a vote of 6-3, agreed.
