Invasive Marine Animals
Lecture by Sarah Hoepfner

Join us for an informative presentation about current marine invasive species monitoring in Cordova.

The European Green Crab has migrated and invaded the west coast of the United States, and several species of invasive tunicates have been found in Southeast Alaska. Sarah will be presenting on the anatomy and history of these species and how they can affect the areas they move into.

Sarah will describe the methods for monitoring as well as the program she works with, which is sponsored by the Regional Citizens' Advisory Council. She will also discuss how the community can help to slow the invasion and what to do if you see something suspicious.
