Dear Inverness Residents,

Earlier this month, the State of Illinois moved into the Bridge Phase of the Restore Illinois plan, which allows for higher capacity limits and increased business operations.  The next phase will enable the economy to reopen with businesses, schools, and recreation resuming normal operations with new safety guidelines and procedures.

Today, the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) reports that 53.6% of Inverness’ population have received a complete series of the COVID-19 Vaccine.  Now, the COVID-19 Vaccine is more readily accessible to individuals 12 years or older by appointment or walk-in.   If you wish to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, visit vaccine.gov for availability.  

CCDPH is currently offering In-Home COVID-Vaccination for individuals who are unable to go to the vaccination sites or pharmacies. Click here for more information about the In-Home Vaccination.

As we plan for family gatherings this Memorial Day weekend, please remember to honor the men and women of our armed services who have died protecting our country. Also, please pay tribune to our first responders, front-line workers, and support staff, who went above and beyond to protect and serve us during the past year.

Vehicle stickers cost $10.00 for each vehicle, if purchased on or before June 30. The fee increases to $25.00, when purchased on or after July 1, 2021. The 2021-2022 Vehicle sticker must be displayed by July 1st.

All dogs within the Village are to be registered and licensed with the Village. The cost of a dog tag is $5.00. A current Certificate of Rabies number and expiration date must be provided on the application to be accepted.  The Illinois Animal Control Act requires that every dog, 4 months or older, be inoculated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian.

Vehicle stickers and dog tags may be purchased by mail, online at inverness-il.gov, or at the following locations:

Monday – Friday

9:00 am to 4:30 pm

Saturdays, June 5 through June 26

9:00 am to 1:00 pm

I would also like to remind you that every building with an alarm system is required to have an alarm permit on file with the Police Department. Permits are available at no charge and allow two false alarms during the 12-month period from June 1st through May 31st.  Your monitoring company should be using (847) 590-3478 to contact the dispatch agency for a police response.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be resurfacing Palatine Road, from Algonquin Road (Illinois 62), in South Barrington, to Roselle Road, in Inverness and Palatine, passing through Hoffman Estates and Barrington Hills.

The $1.7 million project consists of resurfacing the 4.8-mile stretch of Palatine Road, constructing new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps and installing pedestrian push button posts at the intersections. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction, which is expected to be completed in October.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
