Go North of Unexpected

North Durham is redefining what opportunity looks like beyond its urban counterparts. Home to forward-thinking businesses and a community that values balance, creativity and growth, the Townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge offer a compelling alternative.

In “A Letter to my Former Self”, Mary Bridger reflects on her move from Toronto to Uxbridge. She writes about the unexpected benefits including strong community connections, and the ability to work without giving up balance or ambition.

Going north of unexpected, Mary’s story mirrors the experience of others who have discovered that north Durham offers space for ideas, careers and families to thrive. From advanced manufacturing to food production and future tech, north Durham proves big ideas don’t need big-city limits.
