Invest in Your Professional Growth: Leader Roundtables Launch in February

The Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence and the Performance Excellence Network are pleased to launch two new leader roundtables in February 2024 facilitated by Dr. JoAnn Sternke.

The Performance Excellence Executive Roundtable Program provides a confidential, facilitated environment for C-suite executives to share best practices and resolve strategic challenges related to their performance excellence journey. Members can expect to fill the “lonely at the top” void while networking with peers to make better business decisions. It is an energetic place to problem solve in a confidential, collaborative setting.

The Emerging Leaders Roundtable Program is a structured, confidential place for constructive conversation for emerging leaders — managers, supervisors, directors — as they explore best practices, build their leadership tool kit and a grow their professional network.

Both cohorts are online, meeting monthly for 90 minutes (with an in-person gathering at the end of the year). The Roundtables are facilitated, so it does not become a social occasion, a place for unhealthy venting, or a sales platform. Rather, we want it to be a place where you go to for learning and networking -- and grow your leadership from the experience!

For more information on the Leader Roundtables, visit here. Or email WCPE directly to explore the value these forums could have for you, your team, your organization.

These WILL fill fast, so act today!

Communication, Team Building and Time Management

February 8 Webinar Discussion

The Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence — in partnership with the Performance Excellence Network and the Iowa Quality Center — is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, February 8: “Communication, Team Building, Time Management.”

This will be a “speaker-less” discussion that consists of three “speed sharing lightening rounds” of self-moderated sharing and learning from each other! Not only is a great way to learn from each other, but it’s a great way to meet others interested in improvement/excellence and network!

The three topics were carefully selected using feedback from the last three months’ webinar surveys. They are the three most often mentioned challenges that we all face:

  1. Communication — ways to communicate with and engage the workforce; techniques for communicating through different modalities and with different stakeholder groups; best practices in communicating within projects or with partners.
  2. Team Building — ways to engage with your team, improving morale, productivity, and effectiveness; improving team resilience.
  3. Time Management — improving personal productivity by more effectively managing your to do list, emails, and meetings; techniques for work-life balance.

We’ll provide a simple process to help facilitate the dialogue, but largely the session will be organic, allowing participants to contribute and connect in whatever way is meaningful to them. Each discussion topic will last approximately 15 minutes, providing an opportunity to learn from others in and outside your industry.

The discussion will provide an opportunity for sharing, learning, networking (and all-important professional connection).

This session is Thursday, February 8 from 8:00-9:00 CT (no speed networking this time, since the whole session is networking!), using Zoom MEETING. Grab your coffee and breakfast, and join us for a rich discussion. Free for PEN/WCPE/IQC members; $20 for non-members.

Complimentary breakfast webinars are a benefit of WCPE membership (and a nominal $20 per webinar for non members!). Learn about WCPE memberships here.!

Earn your Yellow Belt certificate and

learn the basics of Lean Six Sigma

The Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence and Rocky Mountain Performance Excellence invite you to join us for an interactive introduction to Lean SIx Sigma basics with our partner, The Lean Six Sigma Company!

The Lean Six Sigma methodology has been used to streamline processes to provide services or products to customers, patients, citizens, or stakeholders faster and with fewer errors. Often, the projects take place within the organization, where several people work together (for example, a billing process, licensing process, logistics-, or production processes). The people who run the projects are called Green Belts and Black Belts, but they are dependent on the input and cooperation of their team members to succeed. This virtual workshop explores the process and tools needed to improve process performance and results.

The Leading Excellence & Achievement Program is an invitation-only, one-year executive leadership development program, centered on learning, benchmarking, and networking with other leaders on the journey to excellence. The foundation of the experience is based on the Baldrige Framework, though some participants may come from organizations just wanting to learn more about its use and value.

“LEAP has been a great experience to deepen my understanding of the Baldrige Criteria. We've had great opportunities to learn from national Baldrige winners, our fellow cohort members, and our LEAP coaches. I highly recommend LEAP to anyone considering the program.”

– Cohort 2 participant

There are many benefits of participation:
