Investing in the Next Generation of Disciples

Greetings Ministry Partners,

CCI Vietnam remains committed to devoting our lives to Christ and faithfully carrying out His Great Commission: "teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:20). In that spirit, we are not only focused on training pastors and church leaders, but we are also deeply concerned with building up the younger generation, those who will carry on the faith and mission of the Church in the future. One of our coordinators has spent much time caring for and guiding teenagers ages 14 to 17 in his local church. The course "Beginning the Journey of New Life" is simple, clear, and concise, making it suitable for people of all ages who desire to embark on the journey of faith in Christ. Through this training, the young people are encouraged to remain connected to the church, build healthy friendships, and, most importantly, grow each day in their knowledge of the Lord. Therefore, training teenagers and young adults is an urgent need that churches must prioritize in this present season.

Whenever I am away from home, my wife also supports me by spending time praying for, caring for, and guiding young people in Bible study. As we have walked alongside them, we have noticed a reality that deserves serious reflection: many teenagers are the third or fourth generation of believers in their families, yet some still honestly ask, "Why do our parents make us go to church?" In addition, some young adults ages 18 to 20 consider living together before marriage normal. These questions and perspectives show us that faith cannot merely be passed down as a family tradition or religious habit. Faith must be explained, nurtured, and personally guided so that young people may truly encounter the Lord, understand His Word, and willingly choose to walk with Him from their own hearts.

From the perspective of a pastor, I believe this is not only a concern for one family or one local church, but also a serious reminder to the whole Church of our responsibility to disciple the next generation. If we simply bring young people to church without helping them understand why they believe, whom they believe in, and how that faith relates to their daily lives, they may easily grow up with a borrowed faith, one that lacks a firm foundation and is vulnerable to the influence of society's values.

For this reason, training teenagers and young adults in the Word of God must be viewed as a strategic priority in ministry today. They need to be listened to, engaged in honest conversation, given thoughtful answers to their sincere questions, and shown a living Christian faith through their parents, mentors, and the church community. When they begin to understand that the church is not a place they are forced to attend, but a spiritual family where they are loved, built up, and sent out, their faith will gradually become personal, mature, and enduring.

Please continue to pray for CCI Vietnam, the pastors, teachers, and those who directly care for teenagers and young adults in local churches. May the Lord grant us wisdom to teach according to the truth of Scripture while also showing the grace, compassion, and love of Christ to these young people. May God use this training ministry to draw many young people to Himself, help them love the church, live holy lives in the midst of the world, and become true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your prayers and support,

Testimonies

CCI Student

"I thank God for the opportunity to study with CCI. I have now finished Book #7 (Church Ministry, Administration, and Education). Through this course, I gained a clearer understanding of my ministry role, which highlighted my need for continuous learning and self-improvement. I also learned that the Church is God's established model for spiritual work, where proper administration helps us correct our flaws and serve according to biblical principles and order. Lastly, I realized the importance of teaching God's Word accurately and dedicating myself to nurturing both small and large groups so that believers can grow strong in their faith. Thank God!"

Love & Dating Seminar Participant

"Before joining the Love & Biblical Dating seminar, I was in a relationship that I easily gave up on without making a real effort to preserve it. As a result, I got hurt and hurt others more than a few times. There was a period when I felt lost, questioning whether this was truly the person God had chosen for me.

Throughout the course, I learned to view love from a biblical perspective: that love is not just an emotion but a commitment and a responsible act of loving. I learned how to distinguish between temporary feelings and God's will, as well as how to build healthy standards when getting to know someone.

After the course, I equipped myself with a solid biblical foundation. This allows me to look back and discern whether I am moving in the right direction and whether I have placed God at the center of my relationship, rather than relying solely on my own emotions or judgment. I decided that, first and foremost, I need to work on myself to become a better person, growing in both faith and emotional maturity. I am learning to pray patiently, seek God's guidance, and wait for His timing instead of rushing ahead according to my own desires. I believe that when I surrender everything to God and trust in Him, He will bring the right person into my life at the perfect time."

Training

From a CCI Teacher

Caring for the education of the younger generation is also an important responsibility of those who serve the Lord. Many children in remote highland communities lack access to quality educational opportunities.

Recognizing the growing need for English learning, we partnered with the SEP ministry to provide English instruction for students in northern villages. Pa Khom Church warmly welcomed the students, along with 11 teachers who came to teach both English and the Bible. This became a meaningful summer journey for both teachers and students.

This was the first time the international teachers had come to this area, and their visit took place during the rainy season, when the road into the village was extremely muddy and could only be traveled by motorbike. The event took place in July, a month marked by heavy rains and many external challenges. When the 16-seat van could no longer reach the village due to the road being too slippery, we faced a difficult situation. However, instead of turning back, the church workers and I decided to use motorbikes to help transport the team more than two kilometers into the village.

Seeing the young international teachers, many of whom were visiting our church for the first time, cheerfully put on raincoats and accept the mud and difficult conditions in order to enter the village deeply moved me. For two days, they traveled between the village and the city each morning and evening. Their willingness, together with the dedication of the church workers who transported them by motorbike, was a vivid testimony of the love of Christ overcoming every obstacle of distance, weather, and circumstance.

The program not only accomplished its training objectives but also created a special connection among the teachers, the children, and our local church. We thank the Lord for this meaningful opportunity and for the love and commitment demonstrated through everyone who served.

Baptism

My son is now 15 years old. He recently marked an important milestone in his journey of faith by being baptized at church. We are very joyful to see him love the Lord and actively serve Him as a member of the youth leadership team at the local church. I was deeply moved when I heard him share his desire to serve the Lord in the future. As a father, I am glad that my son wants to follow the path of serving God as his father has done, but at the same time, I also carry some thoughts and concerns as he considers this important decision. I believe my son still has a long journey ahead as he continues to pray, grow, and more clearly discern God's will and calling for his life. I have told him that his father will always love him, pray for him, and support his decision.

Prayer Requests & Praises

  1. Continue to pray for faithful teachers to proclaim God's Word and for faithful students to learn and grow mature in their service to His Church.
  2. The new class scheduled to open in the Central Highlands in July was temporarily postponed because the host pastor's son was involved in a traffic accident. He is currently receiving treatment at the hospital, so the pastor's family is unable to host the class. We hope that the class can begin this August.
  3. On August 8, my son will begin 10th grade at Oneida Baptist Institute in Kentucky. Please pray that he adapts quickly to his new environment. Our family is also looking for a guardian who can host him during school breaks. Please intercede that God will prepare welcoming homes for him.
  4. From August to October, I will be visiting churches in the United States. Please pray that my meetings with supporters and churches will be fruitful and blessed.
  5. In September, we plan to launch at least five new classes. Please pray for God's financial provision so that the teachers can serve and teach with peace of mind.
  6. We are preparing to launch new classes for two new CCI Vietnam partners by the end of this year. Please pray for the successful implementation of these plans.
