Investing in young children means investing in stronger families and healthier communities. That's why the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut is proud to support organizations that are expanding access to high-quality early childhood education, strengthening the workforce, and helping families thrive.
Recently, thanks in part to a generous donor, the Community Foundation awarded $120,000 in grants to three organizations advancing innovative solutions for young children, families, and caregivers across eastern Connecticut.
This funding reflects the Community Foundation's broader commitment to strengthening early childhood systems through its leadership of the End Child Poverty Now (ECPN) campaign. By investing in partnerships, advocacy, and community-based solutions, the Foundation strives to ensure that more children and families have the support they need to thrive from the very beginning.
The grants include:
EASTCONN — $60,000
To support the Northeast Childcare Needs Project in developing an employer toolkit that helps businesses explore childcare microsites as an innovative solution to better support working families.
Child & Family Resource Center at Eastern Connecticut State University — $30,000
For the Lily Pad Lending Library and STEAM Outreach Program, which expands access to hands-on learning materials and early childhood STEAM experiences for young children and families.
LEARN (Groton) — $30,000
To support the Groton Local Governance Partnership, which connects families with community organizations that provide essential resources such as childcare, diapers, food, and housing assistance.
Together, these grants reflect the Foundation's commitment to creating a stronger future by supporting the children, families, educators, and community partners who help young children thrive.
