Belize's Priority Sectors 2018: Trade in Services

The Directorate General for Foreign Trade (DGFT) in collaboration with the Belize Coalition of Service Providers (BCSP), recently issued a comprehensive booklet highlighting the balance of trade for top four (4) service such as: Travel, Communication, Government and other Business Services. The booklet also includes extensive information on the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry, Intellectual Property, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), among others. Data provided within the booklet on the several types of services showcases the multitude of opportunities that exist within this thriving sector.

Celebrity Long Caye Resort and Residences is a proposed development to be located on a 30 acre island property on Middle Long Caye, 17 miles South East of Belize City and only 3 miles away from the Belize Barrier Reef. The property is its natural state with access to over 1,000 feet of untouched beachfront. The proposed all-inclusive eco-friendly resort is to feature 20 overwater bungalows, 20 resort rental units, 35 residences, marina development, restaurant and bar among others. Activities for guests on the island can also include zip lining, horseback riding, kayaking, and jet skis.
