Holocaust Remembrance Day is observed annually on January 27.
What? What can the rise in anti-Semitism over the past several years be attributed to? Why is it important to teach about the Holocaust and other genocides? The panelists at January's Lunch & Learn will discuss their experiences with anti-Semitism and explain their personal and professional dedication to civics education. Wendy Joering will also discuss the Center's collaboration with the Judiciary and the Rhode Island Bar Association on the Center's Leadership Institute for Teens (LIFT) program on how to be an 'upstander.'
Who? Superior Court Judge Richard Licht will provide a welcome. Rabbi Sarah Mack, the Senior Rabbi of Temple Beth-El and immediate past President of the Board of Rabbis of Greater Rhode Island, and Wendy Joering, the Executive Director of the Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education Center, will participate in a conversation moderated by Assistant State Court Administrator, Community Outreach and Public Relations Alexandra E. Kriss.
When? Tuesday, January 30 at 1 p.m.
