  Insurance Tip!
When Tornados Hit:
Homeowners insurance typically covers certain  perils , such as wind and hail. If your policy covers those risks, you'll likely find that dwelling coverage may help pay to repair or rebuild your home, while personal property coverage may help pay to repair or replace damaged or destroyed belongings that were inside the home. Your  deductible  is typically subtracted from the amount your insurance pays toward a covered loss.

Auto Tip of the Week:
Do not use Cruise Control during a storm:
It can be tempting to set cruise control and go during a heavy storm, but avoiding it is a better bet. Cruise control can actually increase your vehicle's chance of hydroplaning, causing you to lose control in seconds. Lifting your foot off the accelerator reduces the car's speed and  prevents loss of traction , but this isn't possible with cruise control engaged. The feature works great in dry conditions, but it's best avoided during rain.
