Congratulations to Savannah's own Kyle Nikola, owner of Families' First Funeral Care- shown on far right, on his new leadership position as the 2014-2015 President of the entire state-wide Georgia Cemetery Association!   
Congratulations to Marianne Ganem Poppell (on left) and the team of Phi Pigma Kappa- 20 ladies and some little brothers who raised $70K for Diabetes and won the 2014 Kiss the Pig Campaign!!  The entire Ganem Family - Mrs. Louise, Mr. Paul, Miz Margaret, Miz Evelyn and Marianne were also given the 2014 American Diabetes Association Community Service Award.   
This week, I'm heading over to the Small Business Chamber breakfast ($5 - the best networking deal in town!) to congratulate Don Holland and Chef Ted Paskevich whose cafe_ Joe's Homemade Cafe & Bakery just become the #1 Dining spot in Savannah as ranked by TripAdvisor.  Then that evening, I"ll be helping Hope & Craig Meeks open their second location: Savannah's Fresh Catch Seafood downtown in the historic district  on Habersham at Henry/Duffy - come join us Tues, May 13, 5:30-7:30 PM - for Ribbon Cutting, Door Prizes and amazing seafood, low country boil. See full info below. Wed Night, stopping by Ruth's Chris Steakhouse to congratulate Randi Hempel on her new job there - and helping Leukemia Lymphoma candidate Will Gruver raise funds. Saturday, stopping by Carol Kirchner's Around the World mall-wide  party - held at the Eisenhower shopping mall where Ele Tran'King & I is located, which just won BEST Thai food at the FOODIE Awards!  Also -racking up awards this past week,  I am so proud of Chef Roberto & Lacie Leoci -who won Best Italian  at the FOODIE Awards for their downtown Leoci's Trattoria!  
 
Small Business Assistance Corporation, Small Business Development Corporation and SCORE and others are celebrating National Small Business Week.  Special CONGRATULATIONS to JUSAK & Jeff, owners of TAILSPIN for winning recognition for their locally-owned small business!

_Savannah Small Business Chamber - separate organization -hosts monthly networking breakfast, membership is only $50 for the year, breakfast is $5 gets about about 40 people attending
_Buy Local Savannah - for businesses that are based in savannah area and locally-owned, no franchises.  Meets monthly at Pirates House, $75 for the year, monthly lunch is $20 -gets about 40 people attending 
_Savannah Jaycees - for young biz professionals 18-40,  meets twice a month.  
_SODA: South of Derenne Association - meets First Wed of each month - no membership fees, just pay for lunch $12, gets about 40 people attending, lots of hotel folks along the Abercorn corridor
