Sharing and giving

The Resurgence Trust is delighted to invite you to our fundraising dinner at Petersham Nurseries on 4 December 2024. This special evening will celebrate the work of our charity while raising vital funds to support our mission. We hope you can join us for an unforgettable night of community, connection and purpose.

As we prepare for this event, we reflect on the deeper significance of food and the act of sharing meals. This week, we offer thought-provoking articles from our archives, alongside a video from Satish Kumar's inspiring Change the Story series. We invite you to ponder on the power of food and explore how mindful eating can positively impact the planet and our wellbeing.

We also bring you the new Resurgence podcast, Hope Springs.

Change the Story: Food

A video with Satish Kumar

We are what we eat! That's why Satish Kumar believes that we should eat fresh, local, organically grown, healthy food. By changing our approach to food, Satish argues, we can reduce ecological stress and pressure on the Earth and our bodies.

This video is part of the Change the Story project, filmed by Jason Taylor and produced by Nat Dyer, in which Satish aims to inspire positive solutions to global challenges.

Terra Viva

By Vandana Shiva

Vandana Shiva has been described in many ways: the “Gandhi of Grain”, “a rock star” in the battle against GMOs, and “the most powerful voice” for people of the developing world.

For over four decades she has vociferously advocated for diversity, Indigenous knowledge, localisation and real democracy. She has been at the forefront of seed saving, food sovereignty, and connecting the dots between the destruction of Nature, the polarisation of societies, and indiscriminate corporate greed.
