Dear Brothers and Sisters,

In my last convention address, I once again called upon everyone in the diocese to engage the programmatic work of Sacred Ground, the Episcopal Church’s dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. This series is a part of the church’s commitment to Becoming Beloved Community.

If you are not already among the hundreds of people in our diocese who have participated in Sacred Ground so far, I invite you to join us as we again offer the course to anyone in the diocese.

Over eleven sessions, small groups will meet in person or online to walk through chapters of America’s history of race and racism. The online curriculum includes documentary films and readings focusing on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.

The series begins with an introduction on Monday, February 27, 7:30 pm - 9 pm over Zoom.

After the initial meeting of all participants over Zoom, small groups will continue independently, on various schedules according to participant availability.

A reunion of all former Sacred Ground participants will be held at the Cathedral in the fall.

Registration closes on Wednesday, February 15.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Rev. Canon Kate Salisbury with any questions about the program.
