What's Happening at Prince of Peace

Daily Devotion
30+ years ago, I received an invitation to join the staff of a Bible camp in Montana and, though I was eager to accept, I had no idea how much this would change my life in the years to follow. Initially, the invitation offered admission into a community that offered adventure. Subsequently, I discovered a place of true transformation, re-creating me as I recreated, a move into the mountains that resulted in God moving into me.

Prince of Peace Opportunities & Updates
Come & See Worship Series
Begins Sunday, January 9
Eyes wide open, we step into this new year with an invitation to “come and see.” Using John’s gospel as our guide, this is an opportunity for each of us to experience Jesus for ourselves. Over the course of the coming two months, we’ll follow where Jesus leads, we’ll see the signs Jesus offers, we’ll listen as Jesus teaches and we’ll come ever closer to knowing the God in whom we believe.

Sunday Forum
Sunday, January 9; 9:30am
On January 9, we will introduce our church partners at Reconciling Works and describe the process for undergoing the Reconciling in Christ “RIC" Program. The RIC program has been a public way for faith communities to see, name, celebrate, and advocate for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions in the Lutheran church.

PoP Kids Sunday School

PoP Kids Sunday School will gather once again on Sunday, January 9 at 9:30am. Please reach out to Pastor Betsy with any questions about upcoming activities.

Registration for Camp Wapo
Opens January 15
It’s cold and snowy outside but it is time to plan for camp next summer. Prince of Peace has had a relationship with Camp Wapo in Amery, Wisconsin for many years. Registration for summer 2022 will be Jan 15 – Feb. 15.

Semi-Annual Meeting
Sunday, January 30; 11:30am
The congregation will gather for it’s regular semi-annual meeting following the second worship service on Sunday, January 30. The proposed agenda includes the annual election of the officers of the congregation, members of the Congregation Council, and those nominated to serve other key leadership roles. In addition, the congregation will be voting on a proposed amendment to the bylaws of the congregation regarding the make-up of the congregation council.

Update from Pastor Peter
The busy Advent & Christmas season arrived in expected fashion, but the planning and preparation has really paid off, allowing for a manageable pace which leaves space to live more deeply with the promises made real in the coming of Jesus. Amen for that!

Notice of Proposed Amendment of Bylaws
In the regular meeting of the Prince of Peace Congregation Council on December 14, 2021, the following amendment to the bylaws was approved by the Council and will be submitted to the congregation for consideration at our regular semiannual meeting on January 30, 2022.
