Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Almost half of all women and men in the United States have experienced psychological aggression by an intimate partner in their lifetime. If you or someone you know is affected by domestic violence, you are not alone—and help is available.
Domestic violence isn't just physical. Emotional abuse is equally serious and can include manipulation, intimidation, isolation, and control. Recognizing the warning signs is the first step toward safety and healing.
Learn about emotional abuse red flags: Understanding the signs of emotional abuse can help you or a loved one seek support. The National Domestic Violence Hotline offers valuable information. Learn more at their website.
Local Resources & Support
Alameda County Social Services offers comprehensive domestic violence support services, including emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and safety planning. Visit their website to learn more about available programs.
If you, or someone you know, needs a person to talk to, please call 211 to connect with our Community Resource Specialists (CRS). Our CRS can provide support, resources, and referrals 24/7.
