IoD Ireland Members' Update
April 2023
| |
Dear Anne,
I hope this finds you well.
Last month the Central Bank (Individual Accountability Framework) Act 2023 was signed into law by Michael D. Higgins, President Of Ireland. Following this the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) launched a consultation on key aspects of the implementation of the Individual Accountability Framework (IAF), including the publication of draft regulations and guidance. IoD Ireland will be reviewing and responding to this consultation through the lens of best-in-class governance, with the aim of feeding back insights and perspectives from our membership and fulfilling our mission to make Ireland an exemplar of corporate governance standards. To this end, we will be in touch again shortly to garner your thoughts on the CBI's consultation and related regulation and guidance. We will also continue to provide guidance and support to members on this significant regulatory initiative through our range of exclusive member content. Please see the panel below for our latest Director Factsheet on the IAF and a link to a previous IAF-based webcast.
Last week we were delighted to host a webinar with Martin Fraser, Ambassador of Ireland to the UK. In this session Ambassador Fraser reflected on the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, noting its lasting impact and the role of Brexit. I was delighted that we were also joined by Gordon Milligan, Chair of IoD Northern Ireland. As Martin reflected in his address, the importance of north-south cooperation is essential, and we look forward to engaging and working more with IoD Northern Ireland.
This ezine’s issue also includes the latest events, director education programmes, exclusive content and benefits available to members, all outlined below.
Wishing you all a very happy Easter.
Caroline Spillane CDir
Chief Executive Officer
Institute of Directors (IoD) in Ireland
