IoD Ireland Members' Update

July 2023

Dear Anne,

I hope this finds you well.

As announced yesterday, IoD Ireland Governance Advisor and Board Assessor Dr Margaret Cullen, will be involved in the Government's announced RTÉ governance and culture review. We welcome this involvement of one of our key Faculty members, who is a leading specialist in the area of corporate governance.

IoD Ireland is continuing to engage with the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) on our Individual Accountability Framework consultation submission. Dr Margaret Cullen and I attended a CBI industry and stakeholder event last Friday highlighting our key submission themes. As part of continuing to be transparent with members on our work, the consultation is now available for members to view on our website. See below.

As part of our ongoing Research, Policy and Advocacy strategy we will be reviewing the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) public consultation on their proposed changes to the UK Corporate Governance Code and the Central Bank of Ireland’s Administrative Sanctions Procedure (ASP) consultation. I will update on this again in due course.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Caroline Kinsella to the IoD Ireland Executive team. Caroline's role as Board and Member Services Director will see her delivering an exceptional membership experience to IoD members in addition to developing IoD Ireland's Boardroom Services.

In this month's ezine, we focus on the important area of cyber security and resilience. All company directors must be aware of the cyber threats that exist for their business, along with the development of essential cyber security legislation and regulations. Find helpful resources below.

I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming IoD Ireland Summer Reception event, which is part of our 30th anniversary celebrations. The event is now booked out, but a waiting list is in operation if you are interested in attending.

This ezine's issue also includes the latest director education programmes, director factsheets, exclusive content and benefits available to members, all outlined below.
