IoD Ireland Members' Update

September 2022

Dear Anne,

I am looking forward to my first Autumn Lunch as CEO of IoD Ireland on Friday, 23rd September. The event presents another opportunity for me to meet more of our members and listen to their feedback as well as hearing from our guest speaker, David McRedmond, Chief Executive Officer of An Post. See below for more information about the event.

In my first members' ezine foreword last month, I mentioned that, due to the relevance and popularity of ESG amongst IoD members, we would be offering more training, information, and content offerings to members over the coming months. I am delighted to say that we have now added an extra offering of our ‘Leading Sustainability: What Directors Need to Know and How to Do It’ online course, beginning on 10th October. While on the topic of ESG, I would like to add that I am looking forward to our IoD Briefings Series event this Thursday in The Westbury Hotel, when Laura Heuston, Director and Co-Founder, SustainabilityWorks, will address the issue of ‘The Sustainable Finance/ESG Agenda: What Do Directors Need to Know?’

The area of governance in the charity sector is another key area that IoD Ireland will be addressing more over the coming months. For now, please see a timely blog below by Helen Martin, Chief Executive, Charities Regulator, on the importance of the Charities Governance Code.

I would like to offer my congratulations to our latest accredited Chartered Directors (CDirs), who are listed below. As a Chartered Director, I can attest to the level of time and commitment the Programme involves, so a ‘very well done’ to them.

I’d also like to offer a warm welcome to our newest IoD members. I look forward to talking with you in due course.

Thank you.
