IoD Ireland Members' Update
September 2023
| |
Dear Anne,
I hope this finds you well.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Week takes place from 23rd September 2023. SDG Week forms part of the wider European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW). As a director and business leader, you'll be aware of the important role Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) plays in corporate boardrooms. That's why IoD Ireland aims to keep our members abreast of the latest European developments affecting your business, particularly the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the Taxonomy Regulation, and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). Our dedicated ESG panel provides more information.
Please save the date for IoD Ireland's flagship event titled, 'Leading in Governance: Supporting Ireland to be an Exemplar of Corporate Governance', on Tuesday, 24th October 2023 in the Aviva Stadium. This event will be forward-looking and focus on crucial elements all directors and business leaders need to be successful, as well as providing key governance insights and an opportunity for networking. Registration for this free event will be open soon.
On your behalf we are responding to the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) public consultation on their proposed changes to the UK Corporate Governance Code; and the Central Bank of Ireland's Administrative Sanctions Procedure (ASP) consultation. We will continue to update members on these key areas as they develop. If you have any final comments/thoughts on these submissions, please contact my colleague Dr Margaret Cullen, Governance Advisor, IoD Ireland.
Finally, I look forward to seeing many of you at our Briefing event this Thursday, in the Westbury Hotel, addressing a key discussion on Joining a Board of a Financial Services Organisation. See more details below.
This ezine's issue includes the latest director education programmes, upcoming events, director factsheets, exclusive content and benefits available to members, all outlined below.
