The Center for Spiritual Deepening invites you to join us for a sojourn on the Scottish Isle of Iona, a center for Celtic spirituality that has attracted pilgrims for hundreds of years.  Iona was the home of a monastic community founded in the sixth century by St. Columba who set out from Ireland to find a place of retreat and refreshment.  Iona still offers those things to travelers who make their way to the rich, serene shores of this "thin" place.

Our time on Iona will include walking in nature, listening to the wind and sea, praying with the Iona Community in the 12th century abbey, group hikes to sacred sites and plenty of time for solitude and centering.  We will stay at the Argyll Hotel which has a view of Martyr's Bay and the Isle of Mull.  We will gather after breakfast each day for conversation, a little history and some thoughts on what might be invited this day on our pilgrimage.

We hope you will consider giving yourself the gift of this time away, to discover what others have found on Iona; a place of clarity and simplicity where God is found in the rocks and grass and beaches and hills, and where, in the presence of the holy one and all those who have sought God in this place, one never walks alone.

Yes, I want to go to Iona!
