Let’s talk about talking with Parkinson’s disease
Communication issues (such as soft voice, imprecise speech, lack of inflection, and others) can become a problem for people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Dr. Rebecca Gilbert, APDA's Chief Mission Officer, talked with Lisa Sommers, MA, CCC-SLP about the value of speech therapy for people with PD at all stages of the condition and what someone with PD might expect from a visit with an SLP.
