Women Build Portal

Each year, the Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity team gathers and takes a day to tour all the work that has been done and is in progress. We spend time together learning as we continue to grow.

This year on our tour, we were tasked with taking photos and choosing the most meaningful picture of the tour.

The "Home is Where the Heart is" was captured in one of our major renovation projects - 337 Almond - in the historic Walnut neighborhood. This photo represents something beautiful still remaining in a structure that looks quite the opposite from the outside. Seeing this displayed on the wall was inspirational.

The panoramic photo is of the team gathered inside 415 Walnut - the church building that Iowa Heartland Habitat currently owns. The 415 Walnut Collective is working to gather the support and resources needed to turn it into an incredible community center with a performing arts space, cafe and more.

           DONATE TODAY

Thanks to you, our donors, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity positively impacts the economy of our entire community.

As we invest your donations, those dollars ripple across Iowa’s Heartland. And your donation increases sometimes as much as 64% as we put it to work building homes and resilient neighborhoods in Black Hawk, Butler, Bremer, and Buchanan counties.

For every dollar invested by Iowa Heartland Habitat in 2022, $1.64 was injected into our local economy!

We are committed to building, rehabbing and repairing housing to facilitate pride in ownership on a household scale. And we recognize the need for partners and a coordinated strategy with residents, organizations, local officials, and businesses to restore stability on a neighborhood scale, because everyone deserves a decent place to live.

Thank you. Every dollar counts!
