Why We Build
Meet Erin, our Senior Site Supervisor! She leads and trains volunteers on the construction site, guiding them through each stage of building homes. She also supports other site supervisors, making sure the project runs smoothly.
Erin loves working with volunteers—helping them take on new challenges and learn new skills along the way. A mission moment that stands out to her is working alongside homebuyers on the build site. Hearing their stories and seeing what their home means to them brings her so much joy.

Stewart Fluent is a longtime volunteer who first got involved through Orchard Hill Church. He began volunteering weekly on Wednesdays and now helps most days, Monday through Thursday.
Stewart especially enjoys flooring and
framing projects.
Before retiring, he worked as a
mechanical engineer. We appreciate all you do for us Stewart!

Owners Jenny Hughes, Pete & Terry Gaumer, and Chasity Block have been long-time partners, supporting Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity’s mission through events like Sips & Bites last spring and the Gallup for Good 5K. We have also teamed up to ring bells and collect donations for The Salvation Army.
