We were excited to take part in the Independence parade for the July 4th holiday. The Buchanan County Steering Committee members and our Rural Outreach Coordinator Brenda Schmidtke represented Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity and showcased our work in Buchanan County. We love our rural communities!

Volunteers of the Month

Women Build 2024

Over the next 6 months, over 250 Women Build volunteers will build 2 entire houses with our special Iowa Heartland Habitat families in Waterloo.

Angela's home now has windows installed and volunteers have begun to put siding on the outside of the house.

Shonda's home has been framed up and the sheathing has been completed on both the first and second floors!

Board Member with Heart

As a member of the Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity board, Allison Beach is eager to dive in and contribute wherever she can to support the organization's mission. Having observed the positive impact of Iowa Heartland Habitat's work in her neighborhood over the years, Allison is proud to now be a part of the team striving to provide housing opportunities and hope for the future. She finds joy in witnessing the transformation of lives through homeownership and looks forward to playing her part in expanding the reach of Iowa Heartland Habitat.

One of Allison's favorite passages, Micah 6:8 NIV “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God,” helps to refocus her eyes and heart to what truly matters each day. Outside of her board duties and business responsibilities, Allison finds comfort in traveling with her family and spending time by the water, whether it's boating or lounging by a pool or lake.
