NEW THIS YEAR: Explore The Community Crate, an interactive housing exhibit that brings Iowa's affordable housing challenges to life through local data and real stories. Thanks to the generous support of the Otto Schoitz Foundation, the exhibit will be available August 19ā20 in the Waterloo Center for the Arts parking lot.

The Blitz Build
Check out the progress at 510 & 512 Almond Street! The siding is going up, the garages are taking shape, and these homes are really coming together.
These homes are part of the John Deere Blitz Build, which kicked off earlier this summer. We're incredibly grateful for the volunteers who have dedicated their time and talent to make this progress possible.

Through a combined $5,000 contribution, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity will expand outreach for our Home Repair Program in Butler County, helping more income-qualified homeowners learn about available assistance for critical repairs such as roofs, furnaces, and electrical safety upgrades.

Paul Bruss has been volunteering with us for the past four years and is a regular volunteer every Tuesday and Thursday. Before retiring, he spent his career at John Deere.
Paul began volunteering because he enjoys working with his hands,
especially the creativity involved in the rehab projects.
When he's not volunteering, Paul
enjoys serving at his church, traveling, and dancing with his wife.

Gene retired from John Deere after 36 years and has been volunteering at the ReStore since 2015ābefore we even opened to the public!
He enjoys helping customers and, in his free time, likes working on home projects and spending time with his family.

Meet Jacob Sapp, our Grant & Data Administrator! He researches and organizes grants to help fund our organization and support our programs.
Jacob loves attending home dedications, seeing families receive their keys surrounded by supporters. One mission moment that stands out: a Church Row resident said our work has kept him in the neighborhood and restored hope.

A Special Day in Parkersburg
We celebrated the completion of 1206 Wemple Street, made possible by the incredible support of our volunteers, donors, staff, community partners, and supporters. Thank you for helping make homeownership possible for another local family!
Our homebuyers work incredibly hard throughout their homeownership journey, and we are proud to celebrate all they accomplish as they achieve their dream of owning a home. The Foxen family, along with every family in our Homeownership Program, completed 300 hours of sweat equity, homebuyer education courses, and volunteered alongside our construction crews to help build homes.
We were also honored to present the 2026 Habitat Legacy Builder Award to Pat Grassley for his leadership in championing Iowa's Housing Renewal Program and strengthening communities across our state.
Together, we're building homes, hope, and brighter futures.
