A big congratulations to Viola on becoming a new homeowner—and our newest neighbor in the Church Row neighborhood! We're so proud of you for achieving this amazing milestone. Wishing you and your family all the best as you begin this exciting new chapter! | | Panel Builds: Building Hope One Wall at a Time | |
A panel build is the exciting first step in creating a safe, affordable home. We bring all the tools and materials needed to construct the walls — and with the help of our incredible volunteers and partners, we make it happen together!
We recently had an amazing panel build day with John Deere Waterloo. A huge shoutout to the 68 dedicated volunteers who came together and built 166 walls in just 6 hours — supporting the future construction of 4 new homes right here in the Cedar Valley! John Deere is generously sponsoring 8 homes this year, contributing a remarkable $120,000. Thank you, John Deere, for your continued commitment to our community!
| | | We also want to celebrate a powerful partnership in Waverly — TruStage and Veridian Credit Union teamed up for a joint panel build, each donating $7,500 for a combined gift of $15,000! With the help of 40 enthusiastic volunteers, we built 45 walls that day. Your support is helping us lay the foundation — both literally and figuratively — for brighter futures. | |
And at the My Waterloo Days Panel Build, again sponsored by John Deere, we were thrilled to welcome even more amazing volunteers. Thanks to their hard work, we built 35 walls, bringing us one step closer to making homeownership a reality for a local family.
We couldn’t do this without all of you. Thank you for showing up, rolling up your sleeves, and helping build more than just walls — you're building hope, stability, and opportunity.
| | | Want to try a panel build for yourself? Come visit us on June 28th during Sturgis Falls! No registration is needed—just show up, roll up your sleeves, and help us build the walls of a future home. It's a hands-on way to make a real difference in your community. | | Wear your Heart for Iowa Heartland Habitat | |

Ali sets the visions and strategies for the organization, works on neighborhood development, builds and stewards relationships with our key partners, stays informed and knowledgeable about all things important to our sector, is a direct liaison to the board of directors, and collaborates and communicates with many community partners.
Ali said, “I believe that when people and neighborhoods see a path forward and know others are behind them who truly care, anything is possible.”
| | During her time off work - Ali loves to spend time with her family. She enjoys having lunch and listening to music at church with her husband, coffee dates with her mom and daughters, and calls with her daughter who lives in Minneapolis. Her whole local family including her sister, brother-in-law, and nieces get together for lunch once a month. She loves getting daily snuggles from her adorable miniature goldendoodle dog, Murphy! Ali’s family is her most important priority and pure joy. | | Rural News: Butler County Critical Repair | | |
We recently completed a critical home repair in Aredale, removing a hazardous porch and cleaning up the yard for a local homeowner. While most repairs are handled by our core team, this project called for extra hands—and extra heart.
Thanks to our partners at St. John's–Vilmar Church in Greene and volunteers from both Butler and Bremer counties, we made great progress. Working alongside the homeowner was a powerful reminder of the impact of community.
| | With demolition complete, we’re moving into the final phase: restoring safe, secure access to the home. | |
Check out the progress on 1026 Grant St! Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity is proud to partner with the Cedar Valley Home Builders Association for a high-impact event: the 2025 Home Builders Blitz. This ambitious initiative has brought together professional builders, contractors, and volunteers to construct an entire home from start to finish in just seven weeks. Construction started on May 1st, and has been in full swing.

Soon, this house will be home to Amy, a hardworking mom of three, who’s been working through Iowa Heartland Habitat’s homeownership program. Once complete, she’ll purchase the home with an affordable mortgage, creating a safe and stable space for her family to thrive.
This Builder’s Blitz would not be possible without all of the sponsors. Thank you to Cedar Valley Excavation, Martinson Construction, Kugler Construction, Koch Construction, Schults Renovation, Ted Electric, Mike Fereday, Gardner Plumbing, Kinzler, Cedar Valley Garage Doors, Freed Construction, Ay McDonald, Maloney Landscaping, and Riley Floors.
