Iowa Heartland Habitat Selected as VGM Group, Inc.'s Be the Change Partner 2024

Each year, the VGM Community Giving Committee vets various non-profits located in communities across the U.S. that their more than 1,500 employee owners call home. We’re happy to announce we were selected as the 2024 Be the Change Partner!

Donations were given to three different Habitat for Humanity locations: Greater Harrisburg, PA, (near the Pennsylvania Fulfillment location) for $5,000; Greater Des Moines (location of Two Rivers Marketing) for $10,000; and Iowa Heartland (location of VGM headquarters and home to more than 1,000 employee owners) for $30,000. On top of the financial donation, VGM is committing 3,000 volunteer hours to Habitat for Humanity for 2024.

Iowa Heartland at

Habitat International Conference

A group of Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity's team members attended the Habitat International Affiliate Conference last week in Atlanta, Georgia. The 2024 Affiliate Conference discusses the incredible work Habitat does in our communities and where our ministry is headed in the future.

The theme for this year highlighted how we’ll create a world where everyone has a decent place to live: We Build. We Influence. Together. Each day was focused on one of those three calls to action. They had engaging plenary discussions, workshops, over 100 exhibitors, and networking opportunities. During the event, they learned a lot about: innovation; resilience; transformation; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

With more than 100 workshop sessions and several networking events, there were many opportunities to learn from and interact with our fellow members of the Habitat network.

Team Member with Heart

As our Property and Planning Manager, Mandy is responsible for rehab home plans and design, property acquisitions, and preparing sites for construction. For Mandy, seeing dedicated volunteers working hard day in and day out is what motivates her to bring her best to our communities. “They make what we do: possible!”

Outside of work, Mandy enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their dogs.
