Raise the Roof: Dinner and Auction

On March 7th, 2025, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity hosted an inspiring “Raise the Roof” Dinner and Auction at the Courtyard Marriott in Downtown Waterloo, Iowa. The event, which ran from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, brought together a diverse crowd of supporters, including family, friends, volunteers, donors, and community members, all united by a common cause: building and repairing homes to strengthen communities and brighten futures.

Guests enjoyed an evening filled with excitement, with both a silent auction and a live auction offering plenty of opportunities to bid on unique items and experiences. Starbeck’s served up delicious food, ensuring there was something for every taste. In addition to the auctions and tasty food, guests had fun capturing memories in the photo booth, and the celebration ended on a high note as guests danced the night away in support of a great cause.

All proceeds from the event went directly to supporting Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity’s mission to provide affordable housing and improve the lives of those in need.

The event was a resounding success, and the Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity team thanks everyone who attended and contributed to making the evening a memorable one!

Habitat on the Hill

At Habitat on the Hill, nearly 500 housing advocates gathered in D.C. for 3 days of training, collaboration, and direct advocacy. Our Executive Director, Ali Parrish, met with congressional representatives, urging them to invest in affordable homeownership now.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to advocate for change and the support of our community.

Andrew is inspired by the range of work that we do here at Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity–affordable housing, critical home repairs, neighborhood revitalization, and the ReStore operations. He said, “Our team works hard to make the biggest impact that we can in the counties that we serve!”

Outside of the life of numbers, Andrew considers his greatest joy right now to be his faith in God and spending time with his wife Mary, and their three-year-old daughter. They have brought so much energy and fulfillment to his everyday life. His family motivates him and inspires him every day.
