A special congratulations to our very own Neighborhood Impact Coordinator, Jenna Petersen, for receiving the Nonprofit Staff Leader Award! We’re incredibly proud of all our nominees and their dedication to making a difference.

Meet Jenna, one of our incredible team members whose dedication and creativity play a vital role in sharing our mission with the community. Jenna works tirelessly to craft and manage all of our communications, ensuring that our messaging is clear, impactful, and consistent across all platforms. From writing compelling stories to maintaining a cohesive brand presence, Jenna is the voice behind so much of what helps connect us to our supporters and the families we serve.

Jenna is a devoted pet parent to her doodle dog, Ember, who holds a special place in her heart. She also recently adopted a kitten named Izzy. Whether it’s taking Ember on walks, playing with Izzy, or simply relaxing together, Jenna takes pride in caring for her furry companions.
Her passion for storytelling, community, and connection makes Jenna an invaluable member of our team. We’re so fortunate to have her helping us share the impact of our work!
| | Big shoutout to our staff who rolled up their sleeves at 427 Iowa Street earlier this month! 💪 Our staff build day was in full swing—and so was the team spirit. It was a great opportunity for our team to get on site, pitch in, and see the real impact we're making in the community. | | In Loving Memory of Marvin O. Heller | | | With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our dear friend, longtime volunteer, and one of the founders of Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity, Marv Heller. Marv’s vision and leadership laid the foundation—literally and figuratively—for everything we do today. What began as a dream to help families access safe, affordable housing has grown into a mission that’s impacted hundreds of lives across our community, thanks to Marv’s heart and commitment. Through his many years of service, Marv built more than just homes—he built hope, connection, and a legacy that will live on for generations. We are deeply grateful for the love and leadership he gave so generously. Our thoughts are with Marv’s family and loved ones. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered. | | Regular Volunteer Appreciation Dinner | |
We had an incredible evening at our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, celebrating the amazing regular volunteers who show up week after week to support our mission with their time, skills, and dedication. đź’™

These wonderful individuals contribute a tremendous number of hours each year, and their consistent commitment is the backbone of our work. The night was filled with gratitude and inspiration — from fun trivia games to a special tribute honoring the legacy of Marvin Heller.
A huge congratulations to Mick Rosenau, this year’s recipient of the Marv Heller Legacy Award — a truly well-deserved honor! 👏 To all our dedicated regular volunteers: thank you for making a difference every single day.

Please join us in celebrating Clint Munson, who was recently nominated for the 2025 Waterloo Mayor’s Volunteer Award! While he didn’t take home the top honor, Clint was one of just 23 incredible individuals recognized citywide for their commitment to making a difference—and we couldn’t be prouder.

Clint has become a familiar and trusted face on our build sites, where he’s spent countless hours working side by side with homeowners and Iowa Heartland Habitat crews. His skill, dedication, and positive attitude have made a lasting impact on our projects and the families we serve.

Thank you, Clint, for showing up, working hard, and helping build strength, stability, and hope in our community
