Grand Re-Opening of our Main Office and Warehouses

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our Grand Re-Opening! We want to give a special thank you to Grow Cedar Valley Ambassadors for organizing the ribbon cutting, to Mayor Hart for speaking, and to the City of Waterloo for live-streaming the entire event. The event marked 25 years since the original ribbon cutting at this location for Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity.

Gallop for Good 5K

Independence Student Council hosted the Gallop for Good 5k, and 135 people participated. The event raised $2,341, which was donated to Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity. We want to thank the Student Council Members for all of their hard work and dedication to hosting this event.

Women Build 2024

As Women Build 2024 wraps up, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the incredible journey of our volunteers! This year, they committed to completing two homes, taking on every step of the building process with enthusiasm, teamwork, and an inspiring dedication to our mission. We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of them—thank you all!

Over at Shonda’s house, our volunteers have been hard at work installing stairs and laying down flooring. We’re thrilled to share that her home is right on schedule, and we’ll be dedicating it on November 19th, 2024. We hope you’ll join us for this special celebration!

We have had some beautiful fall weather this month. Church Row residents and Jenna Petersen, our Neighborhood Impact Coordinator, gathered together to give out free coffee and information about the World Grace Project.

Urgent: Volunteers Needed!

We need your help completing our homes! Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity has a goal of completing five homes by the end of this year, so those five families can spend the holidays in their new homes. Schedule a volunteer team of 4-8 people! Consider bringing out your department at work, your church small group, your favorite group of friends and family members, etc. We need your help.
