Congratulations to the Ruckers!

On September 23rd, Shy and Antonio received the keys to their new home! We could not be prouder of them and wish the Ruckers a lifetime of memories in their home.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and heart to this build. We are so proud of the Ruckers and our community that came together to support them!

This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our amazing Women Build volunteers. Together, we make homeownership possible:

-361 individual volunteers

-39 dedicated teams

-Over 1,286 hours of hard work were poured into the Women Build Homes

-$100,000 was raised to make it all possible

9/11 Panel Build

Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring the lives lost and the heroes who served on 9/11.

During our panel build, 45 dedicated volunteers came together to build 80 walls for two future homes on the 500 block of Almond, set to begin construction in 2026.

A special thank you to the first responders who joined us: Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, Waterloo Police Department, Waterloo Fire Department, and a retiree from Cedar Falls Police Department.

Parkersburg Kickoff Event

Our Parkersburg Kickoff was a success! 💛 Thank you to everyone who joined us in supporting the Foxens. Guests had the chance to meet the family, walk through the home, and even help demo a wall in the kitchen — a fun and meaningful start to this rehab project!

You can make a lasting impact by becoming a project sponsor and helping us continue this important work in Parkersburg. To learn more, contact Rylee Petersen at rpetersen@webuildhabitat.org or (319) 235-9946.

Why We Build

Meet Jacob Sapp, our Grant & Data Administrator! He researches and organizes grants to help fund our organization and support our programs.

Jacob loves attending home dedications, seeing families receive their keys surrounded by supporters.

One mission moment that stands out: a Church Row resident said our work has kept him in the neighborhood and restored hope.

If Jacob were a tool, he’d be a level—keeping things balanced and organized. Outside of work, he enjoys biking, hiking, camping, football, and puzzles.
