Fall Conference A Huge Success!

ICCE wishes to thank the many individuals who helped to make the 2018 Fall Conference a success.

Centerville/Rathbun Chamber -Thank you to Natalie Close, Executive Director of the Centerville/Rathbun Chamber, for serving as our host. Natalie showcased the city of Centerville by taking us to one of the finest pizza restaurants in town, the “George & Nicks Pizza & Steakhouse”, a tour of the Appanoose County Historical Museum, and a boat cruise on the J & K boat on Lake Rathbun. Elvis was great! Thank you Natalie for all your work in hosting and assisting with the Conference. Please extend our great appreciation on to your board, membership and Mayor.

Honey Creek Resort - Thank you to the Honey Creek Resort for the work the staff did to make our stay and conference great. Marsha Whisler, it was a pleasure to work with you and your staff. The hotel is in a beautiful location to visit and stay at if you have never been there.

Adam Legge - Thank you, Adam Legge, for your great presentation. You made us feel that we are remarkable in what we do as Chamber Executives and Staff. Adam is the author of “Making Remarkable” How to Deliver Purpose, Inspire People and Build a Platform for Exceptional Results. You can order a copy of the book by contacting Adam at adamlegge.com. Thank you Adam we hope to see you again in the very near future.

Larry Dowell - Thank you Larry Dowell, Dowell Management, for presenting the MACE Compensation Survey information. The presentation provided information that we all need regarding our compensation as chamber staff. Remember to sign up for the 2019 Operation Survey when available after January 1, 2019.

Joe Murphy - Thank you, Joe Murphy with the Greater Des Moines Partnership for sharing what our role is when we meet with our legislators. The information shared was very helpful and we look forward to working with you as we make plans for our day at the Capitol. More information will be coming regarding the event.

TRC - Thank you to Julie Todtz and Brian Buthe. The Total Resource Campaign (TRC), provided valuable information on how we can increase membership and secure sponsors. We all have a better understanding of the process of a TRC program. Questions? Contact Julie Todtz at the Ankeny Area Chamber or Brian Buethe with the Grimes Chamber.

Iowa Alcoholic Beverage Division – Thank you for your presentation on what we should and should not be doing when serving or having alcohol at events.

Marshalltown Strong - How can any of us forget Lynn Olberding's presentation on “Marshalltown Strong”. Thank you Lynn. We all learned from your presentation on how to be prepared in case we are met with a devastating event like the one Marshalltown encountered in July. Your passionate delivery demonstrated how you gathered the community together to move forward. It also showcased your love of and commitment to your community. Thank you Lynn. We’re all here for you if you need anything. ICCE is here for all of our members when a devastating incident occurs in your community. Please reach out to any of us. We’re here to support one another.

ICCE members will depart on October 17th for a trip aboard the MS Amadeus Queen for a seven night cruise, scheduled to visit four European countries. The cruise is full and we hope everyone brings back memories of a lifetime. ICCE thanks the Urbandale and Ankeny Chambers for their help making this trip a success. A special thanks to Chamber Discoveries for offering a "Memory in the Making" cruise.

ICCE is not hosting future travel programs. We encourage each of you to contact our affiliates, Chamber Discoveries and CITSLINC for any travel you wish to do with your members or work as a region to host a trip. This can be a great source of non-dues revenue for your chamber.
Regional Meetings

Regions throughout the state continue to hold these very informative meetings. If you have not attended one, you are missing out on great discussion and information relating to your region, chambers and ICCE.
