Irish Art Exhibit
This year's Irish Art Exhibition features works from two artists, Patrick McCarthy and Joann O'Meara. Both artists were born in Ireland, and both display buildings but in wholly different ways. Come and enjoy the connection and contrast of both artist's work.
Joann O'Meara is an artist originally from Ireland, who graduated with a BA in fine art painting from the National College of Art and Design in Ireland. An important focus of her career and lifelong passion is to change how people perceive the world through art. Now residing in Enumclaw, she uses her overlooked everyday surroundings as inspiration and reimagines them into a new and unmistakable manner.
Patrick McCarthy grew up in in a traditional, thatched cottage in Kilcornan, Co. Limerick. Initially a self-taught artist, he later studied at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco where he developed the distinctive style that characterizes his paintings permitting him to capture the beauty and decay of the landscapes, winding roads and green fields. The Irish Week Poster is another example of his style.

Antique Irish Postcard Display
After a break of several years, the Cooper Family's Antique Irish Postcards will again be exhibited on the Upper Level at the Seattle Center Armory on both days of the Festival. The postcards cover watershed eras in the history of Ireland, providing an interesting glimpse into the social history, cultural history and material culture of Ireland in the turbulent 1800s and also during the "Golden Age of Postcards", the early 1900s. Plan to spend a lot of time browsing through the thousands of images on display.

Irish Week 2023 is sponsored by Five Farms Irish Cream.
Five Farms is the world’s first farm-to-table Irish Cream Liqueur, exclusively sourced and produced in County Cork, Ireland. County Cork is Ireland’s largest and southernmost county, home to family-owned farms that dot the coastline where the land meets the sea. It seems to sit on the edge of the world, a rugged backdrop for the farmers who have toiled this land for generations.
