Words From Weisner
As we enter into this season of Lent, classroom teachers will be focusing on this season through discussions, prayer opportunities, and spending this time making improvements on being better students. We will start our Stations of the Cross this Friday and then each Friday until Holy Week. In addition, our students in Grades 2 – 8 will be involved with a Penance Service on March 17. We continue in Lent to explore the fruits of evangelization and how it can change our lives through service to others in our school, through our actions toward each other, and also those outside our school who are in need of our help and prayers.

Just a reminder, the deadline for completing the FACTS application is March 15.  March 15 is a strict deadline and there will be no late applications acceptedAccess to the FACTS application can also be found on the school website. Once the information from the FACTS application is received by me, I will then be able to distribute tuition assistance funds (Level II funds) to those families who need help with tuition. Families are also eligible to receive Diocesan Tuition Assistance funds by completing the FACTS application. As always, all registered St. Catharine Parish families receive a Level I grant for being a registered and contributing members of this parish. In addition, I will be reviewing service hours by families in determining final grant amounts. Please remember to continue to update service hours.

A special thanks for Mr. Tim Magree and part of our Choir who sang with the Diocesan Honor Choir program at St. Matthew Church on Monday, March 2. Mr. Magree has worked with the students on preparing the music for the program. These students were joined by other school choirs for a Lenten program. Seeing all those students singing songs that journeyed along the Lenten path was very amazing. The following students represented St. Catharine for this performance:
Mariah Williams
Katharine Barlay
Laura Harris
Anna Weber
Adelyn Gipe
Ella Schindler
Genevieve Mosteller

Thanks also to our choir chaperones: Mrs. Mosteller and Mrs. Weber
Until Next Week,
Janet Weisner
