Words from Weisner
Interims for our students were sent yesterday, Tuesday, September 24. Most of the primary students’ (K – 3) teachers use the interim to describe what standards the students have been working on in class. This is generally a narrative. Students in grades 4 – 8 will receive an interim only if they have NOT been meeting the standards at this time during the First Quarter. The teachers continue to work with these students on approaches to learning, support in their learning, and study skills to help them improve on their approach to learning.

Our 8 th grade is participating in a team building and leadership experience at Summit Vision this Thursday, September 26. Having this experience early in the year provides our students with skills in cooperation, leadership, and confidence in working with each other. They also will be participating in the parish 8 th grade Confirmation Retreat at Damascus this weekend so please keep them in your prayers.

Until next week,
Janet Weisner

Creative Activities Program (CAP ) is in need of volunteers to help lead clubs for the fall sessions.Clubs are open to grades 1-8 and one day a week after school from approximately 3:00 to 4:00. The fall session dates are from Oct. 7 to Nov. 15. Please consider giving an hour per week on the day of your choice to lead a club. This would be a great way to earn volunteer hours and can be anything from Legos to gardening to science club. I am happy to help with any ideas and materials to get your club started. We also will reimburse you for all materials used.
Our students really enjoy participating in after school clubs but it is essential for parent involvement to keep these clubs going.
Please contact Jasmine Williams at by Sept. 27 if you are interested. Potential ideas: Archery, Board games, Dodgeball, Lego (CAP has a large collection of Legos for use), Puzzles, Rocket Building/STEM, Sewing
Come Play With Us! – The St. Catharine Playground Fundraiser has raised over $188,000 for the new playground. We anticipate ordering the equipment soon and the goal is to have it installed in late Fall. Due to the shortfall of the goal of $200,000, there will be some changes made from the original aspirational plans. The cost of equipment, installation, & surfacing is $180,000; however, to ensure the longevity of the playground, we must install a drainage system which may cost approximately $20,000.  Watch the Insider for updates as the project progresses. Thank you to everyone for your generous support of this project!
Thank You
Thank you to our fantastic parent volunteers and the Hartley girl's soccer team for helping with the pick up on Friday. For those who purchased mums, here is a mum care video link courtesy of Foertmeyer and Sons:

All students who sold at least 2 items will receive a dress down day. The date will be determined by Mrs. Weisner. The top 3 grades with the highest participation are 8th/Logan, 2nd/ Underwood, and K /Stebelton/Allen.
