Words from Weisner
Just a couple of “thank you” wishes and reminders this week. The Home and School profited about $12,000 from their “Night at the Races”. Thank you to all those who helped with this event and attended. As always, we have a wonderful group of parents who support these events that assist the school with student field trips and other classroom events! In addition, thank you to the Home and School for the mats for the new playground. We continue to wait for a permit from the City of Columbus since the playground equipment is ready to be delivered. This permit was submitted at least two months ago and the playground cannot be built without it. Maybe the permit will be our Christmas present! In addition, we are painting the gym during the Christmas vacation. Walls, ceiling, bleachers, and bathrooms under the stage should be finished by the time we get back from Christmas vacation. Again, Home and School helped to finance this endeavor.

Our 7th and 8th grade students will be attending the presentation of the “Matchgirl” at the Lincoln Theater next Thursday, December 19. Through the generosity of the Partners in Education program, our students will have the opportunity to see two of their classmates (Erinn O’Malley and Celeste Sybert) perform in leading roles!

Just a reminder that the school Christmas performance is next Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00 in the evening. All students (K – 8) will be participating. Attendance is mandatory for students and they are eager to share their spirit of Christmas. The front glass doors of the school (by the gym) will open at 6:15. The back gym door by the school will also open at 6:15. Students should stay in the gym with their parents until 6:30 when they go to their classrooms. We are asking all parents to remain in the gym for the entire performance and can pick up their children at their classrooms at the end of the performance. The entire performance should last no longer than an hour. The dress attire for this event was sent home by Mr. Magree last week. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at this Christmas event!
